HARTMAN, Richard James HARTMAN
- Richard James Of East Aurora, beloved father, Naval Aviator, and avid golfer slipped the surly bonds of Earth and entered into rest December 18, 2017. He was 88. Known fondly as "Dick" to his many friends, Richard learned to fly at the age of 15, later entering Naval Service at age 23. Richard's life-long love of flying eventually led to a 30 year career as a Captain for American Airlines. His love of flying was surpassed only by his passion for golf and he could be found on the golf course all year long. He was especially proud of his lifetime seven holes in one. Richard leaves behind eight children including Geoffrey (Jackie), Christopher, Steven (Kathy), Ann (Joe), Barbara (Patrick) Ryan (Mother Carol Leighbody); Christine (Jason) Fuston, Kelly (Kevin) Gleber, and Kathryn Hartman (Mother Kathie Hallock); along with 11 grandchildren. Richard was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Richard was predeceased by his sister, Jane Kirch and his brother, Claude Hartman. No services are planned, as requested by Richard. A private Celebration of his Life with family members will be held at a later date to be determined. Arrangements by JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC.
