CLEVELAND, Ohio -- American Airlines is to start moving operations from Concourse A to Concourse C at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Tuesday at midnight.
The new gates they will be using are C2, C3, C4, C5, C8, C10 and C14, according to a news release from the airport. In the short term, American remain at gates A1 and A3 during the transition.
AA made the decision to move to Concourse C to consolidate operations which were spread out on Concourse A due to their merger with the former US Airways, according to Cleveland Hopkins.
American Airlines' ticket counter and baggage carousel will stay at their current locations for now.
Michele Dynia, the airport's communications manager, said in an email Tuesday that most of the move will be completed overnight, but there is no firm date as to when American will stop using gates at Concourse A. The move gives American no more gates than it had before. The ones it is moving into were left when United moved out of them.
The press release said American needed to consolidate operations which had become spread out after a merger with US Airways.
